Senate Health Bill Would Cut Medicaid by Three-Quarters of a Trillion Dollars
New estimates from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released today clearly show that this bill is not about repealing “ObamaCare,” but about capping federal health spending and cutting taxes for the richest Americans and corporations. CBO projects that the bill would cut Medicaid by $772 billion. For comparison, CBO previously estimated that the cost off all Marketplace subsidies equaled $781 billion over the same time period from 2018 to 2026.
