On Thursday, July 11, I was honored to be a guest at a World Economic Roundtable, an event hosted by the New America Foundation and the World Policy Institute.
While there, I discussed my new book, Comeback: America’s New Economic Boom The basic story of the book is that the great economic booms in American history have been the result of fortuitous discoveries, usually in the realm of natural resources. The recent discovery of the huge quantities of natural gas in American shale has the potential to transform the manufacturing economy, creating new blue-collar jobs and fueling (as it were) a new round of infrastructure projects.
The slides from my talk are available below.
Thanks to both New America and the World Policy Institute for hosting.
